Sodalite
Measurement - last two pics
Weight - 1.1oz
Origin-Brazil
Sodalite is a deep blue, sodium-rich mineral often mistaken for lapis lazuli, known for its distinctive white calcite veining and used in jewelry, carvings, and ornamentation, prized for its royal blue color but noted for being softer (5.5-6 on Mohs scale) and sensitive to pressure/chemicals, making it ideal for pendants and beads rather than rings. It's part of the feldspathoid mineral group and is also found in other colors like gray, green, or yellow, with some varieties fluorescing orange or changing color in sunlight (tenebrescence).

Color: Most famously deep royal blue, but also gray, green, yellow, pink, or lavender, typically with white streaks/patches.
Distinction from Lapis Lazuli: Sodalite has white calcite veins; lapis lazuli often has gold pyrite flecks.
Luster: Waxy to vitreous.
Fluorescence: Can fluoresce orange
